Welcome to 2022!Dear BARRC Members,As we begin a new year, it is my pleasure to again serve as your BARRC President. Your faith in me gives me a renewed sense of purpose. I would like to congratulate our new officers, as well as those officers who will continue in their existing roles. A special “Thank You” to Robin Cohen who did an outstanding job as our President Ex Officio in 2021. Her assistance during my first year as President made my role much easier.
Our biggest ongoing challenge remains as trying to make definitive plans while observing COVID-19 state mandated guidelines. With some guidelines lifted/eased, we were able to hold our 17 th Annual Specialty on October 29 th , 2021, in Dixon. I’m pleased to say it was a huge success. We are planning to have more in person meetings, trials, and activities in 2022 and we have 3 huge on-site events currently planned.
BARRC will hold its Annual All-Breed Agility Trial March 4, 5 & 6, 2022 in Morgan Hill, CA.
Our first Fun Day will be March 12th, from 9am – 3pm at a fun filled venue in San Andreas, CA where we will introduce tracking, rally, agility, and conformation. Please come out and enjoy a wonderful day with your fellow RR owners.
On July 15, 2022, we will hold our 18th Annual Specialty in Carmel, CA.
These are just three of the exciting events wehave planned so please check the BARRC site regularly as we will update our calendar/site with other planned events as they are scheduled.

For those of you who may not know me, I would like to share a little of my background. I have been a member of BARRC for 17 years and have been involved in many facets of the club. I have been fortunate to have many RR breeders, owners, and club members mentor me and share their knowledge and experiences about our uniquebreed. I have been an owner, handler, & breeder of several champions during these years and I am honored to be an ambassador of our amazing breed. As your President, I value and encourage your input and suggestions which are instrumental to the Board in making decisions.
Additionally, I would like to see BARRC grow and one of my objectives for 2022 is achieve an increase in membership. We do have several new members joining us in 2022. I would like to hear your thoughts about how we might campaign for new members, while encouraging existing members to become more involved with various club activities, whether related to competition or non-competition functions. We are currently planning a variety of activities such as Agility, Fast-CAT, Lure Coursing, Tracking, Scent work, Rally, Obedience, and Fun Days. We will continue holding our Membership Meeting every other month beginning in February 2022.
One of the goals I had when I began your President in 2021 was to reinstate a “Mini” BARRC store and have BARRC items available for sale to our members. Our Ways & Means Chair, Robin Cohen started this effort with some exciting and blingy items with the BARRC logo. Check out the “Members Only” Facebook site to see some of the items available to purchase.
In the event you have any suggestions or issues, I would encourage you to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call / text me at (916) 599-1490.
